Heard something on this very topic today.
Mitch Cohen
said he will blog about it soon, but bottom line, remove the server task that does the actually place deletion, and handle it monthly - so when the users delete a place, and didn't mean to type in the word yes and submit it, it doesn't actually remove the place from the structure.

Assuming the place has yet to be removed from the server and this is the Domino version of Quickr, follow this process:
Using the Admin client, access your Quickr server. Go to the Files tab and navigate to the folder containing your workroom, eg quickplace\testroom
You'll see that the Title of each of the databases that make up your workroom have been updated to [pending delete]
Rename the Title of each one (not the filename) to something else. Obviously it's difficult to know what they were called before the workroom was flagged for deletion, so I just rename Main.nsf from "[pending delete]" to "testroom\Main", Contacts1.nsf to "testroom\Contacts", Search.nsf to "testroom\Search" and then all the PageLibraryXXXXXXX files to "testroom\PageLibraryXXXXXXX" (substitute testroom for the proper room name).
Once that's been done, I then issue a "load qptool unlock -p testroom" and then a "load qptool register -p testroom -install". The "register" command should be issued on each Quickr server if you're running a resilient web solution.
Your "deleted" room should now be accessible and back in placecatalog. Obviously the above will not work if the room has already been removed from the server.
This is logged somewhere on the Quickr forum, but I can't find the link at the moment.
