Why does Traveler eventually take up every TCPIP Port, until it causes widespread failures?
Lately we get this Error:

11/18/2009 05:49:46 PM  The TCP/IP protocol stack reported that it ran out of memory.  Consult your network documentation to increase configured memory, or reduce Notes connections by limiting clients (see SERVER_MAXSESSIONS parameter in Notes Admin Guid
e). - Automatically reducing TCPIP port maximum sessions to 3463. Currently, 1 sessions are in the process of being recycled.

I went to the command prompt and Did netstat -n and saw hundreds of these Hung connections between the server with traveler, and our other notes servers.
  TCP    172.16.5.31:3876       172.16.5.31:1352       CLOSE_WAIT
  TCP    172.16.5.31:3941       172.16.5.33:1352       CLOSE_WAIT
  TCP    172.16.5.31:3946       172.16.5.33:1352       CLOSE_WAIT
  TCP    172.16.5.31:3960       172.16.5.33:1352       CLOSE_WAIT

When I did netstat -a -n -b (only works on 2003 server or later)  It showed that ntravler.exe was responsible for all of them.

Restarting clears it up, but it eventually gobbles them back up again.

It's definitely a bug with Lotus Traveler, however I believe was able to work around it.  (So far so good, but not celebrating yet)

The connections left open were to the primary mail servers of the end users listed in the address book.

By changing the primary mail server of the end users to the server Traveler was installed on I was able to work around the issue.

Not ideal, but better than telling the President of the company that he can't use his new iphone anymore.

Good to hear this is working out Tim. It will be interesting to see if any others are experiencing the remote mail file issue. Keeping my eyes peeled.
